About Me

Where it all started

As a teen, I was very shy, always self-conscious, and believed that because I didn’t have a boyfriend I wasn’t worthy of… well, anything. I truly believed that if I had blonde hair and blue eyes all my problems would be solved. I constantly focused on the fat fold around my waist and went on a diet when I was 14.

In my early twenties, I started modeling and acting (truthfully because I was seeking external validation to tell me I was enough). I wasn’t aware of coaching at the time, but I established and have maintained a 30 year career in commercials, t.v., and film. I learned the satisfaction of reaching an unseemingly unreachable goal, and gained a solid sense of self through using these techniques of self-coaching.

In 2011, I was blessed to work with teens and young adults (Especially for Youth) at a national summer conference. After speaking to those young women about self-worth, many came up to me and shared their pain. In the years since, as I have continued to speak at these events, many have shared their personal struggles with body image and lack of self-confidence.

While working closely with many adult women in my church, I realized that they too, grapple with deprecating thoughts about their worth and of what they are capable. With a deep desire to help others circumvent these internal battles, I became a mental wellness and mindset coach.

Why all the dandelions?

I love analogies! When I started my coaching business, the dandelion seemed to be the perfect symbol. Why? We have been conditioned to believe that it is a weed, and that we need to keep it from ruining our beautiful green lawns. But did you know that the dandelion is actually an herb? Most of us do, but we forget. Its leaves are likely the most nutritionally dense green around. It’s rich in antioxidants, and has the potential to reduce inflammation, lower cholesterol, manage blood pressure, and detox the liver.

All of these amazing benefits of the dandelion exist despite what we are conditioned to believe about it.

Similarly, as women, we encounter narratives that label us. When those negative narratives take hold in our heads, you might hear, “you are not enough, you are only a weed”. But despite those false stories, like the dandelion, you ARE enough. You have inherent worth, value, and talents that have always been with you.
